Just Breathe - Why it's For Everyone

I was recently featured in the Saskatoon StarPhoenix in an article called “Just Breathe”, which explores how therapies targeting the nervous system are emerging as the next wave of wellness. Breathwork was front and center — and for good reason.
For me, breathwork isn’t about ritual or ceremony. It’s about science, the nervous system, and giving people practical tools to deal with the reality of life. I approach this work from a holistic but grounded perspective, because I believe breathwork should be accessible to everyone — not just those with a spiritual practice.
Why? Because the people who need this the most are often the ones who don’t see themselves in a spiritual circle:
Career-driven professionals who are burning out under pressure
Parents juggling family responsibilities, careers, and endless to-do lists
High performers who feel stuck, stressed, or disconnected from themselves
Breathwork helps regulate the nervous system, process stored emotions, and release the stress we carry in our bodies. It’s not about “woo” or mystical experiences — it’s about giving your system the reset it’s wired for but rarely gets.

As I shared in the article:
“We carry a lot of emotions and quite often stuff them down. When they stay down, they fester. Breathwork helps the body process the emotions then releases them.”
What makes this so powerful is its simplicity. We’re already breathing 20,000 times a day — but when you learn to breathe with intention, it becomes a tool for clarity, healing, and resilience.
Sometimes the most revolutionary wellness practices are the simplest. Breathwork doesn’t require years of training, a specific belief system, or an expensive setup. All it requires is your willingness to pause, breathe, and let your body do what it was designed to do.
✨ This is why I teach breathwork the way I do — accessible, science-backed, and designed for real life.
